Perhaps you are wondering what I was doing before I got into the accounting field. After graduating high school in June of 1980, I was working on the family farm just outside of Atwood, Ontario to pay for college. Come Jan 1982 I enrolled in Conestoga College’s Food Prep Basic program at Waterloo, Ontario campus. Upon graduation I landed a job as junior cook at the local motel, The Blue Barn Motel. I was employed with the company for one & a half years. After a change in management, my employment with the motel was terminated. Being unemployed come Jan of 1984 I enrolled in GeorgianCollege’s Food Prep Advance program at Barrie, Ontario. Upon graduating I was able to land only temporary job in the hospitality field. Through some deep soul searching I decided to enroll at Fanshawe College in their accounting program. I got into the accounting field due to my enjoyment of working with number, & interest in helping people. One of my greatest fulfillments with the business is when I can help the little guy keep more of their earnings.
My interests include cards, board games, regularly donating blood & yes cooking. I am the treasurer of the St. Peter’s Cathedral Knights of Columbus council. For 15 years I have been an active member of the Knights.
I am happily married now for 5 years. We met while I was doing one of my regular blood donations. Janice was a registered nurse in the collection department. She has 2 grown children, a son 32 & a daughter 29. Since she retired from CBS in June, she has taken on a part time job with London Scoping.
